Well my Dad is feeling better. Although I imagine the hospital bills will still be monstrous, we'll find a way through it. As long as Dad is healing, then that's fine with me. Anyway, to the topic today: Godzilla x Kong. Honestly, I didn't have much interest in this film. Not because it looked bad, but it made me sulk because I wish we got a few more serious but fun Monsterverse films akin to King of the Monsters (2019) before jumping right into full-blown Showa era nonsense (doesn't help that the more I think about Godzilla vs Kong, the more I think its the weakest Monsterverse film in the franchise. I still love how they handled the fights between Goji and Kong, as well as that incarnation of MechaGodzilla, but the rest of the movie feels like a massive, forgettable downgrade compared to what came before). Okay...I know I have no right to ask since there are millions of others who need it more than I do, but...I need help. My Dad recently had a bad accident, and his leg is shredded near the foot. He didn't hit any arteries, but he did chip the bone. On top of that, the wound is so big that stitches won't do any good, and the doctors are still trying to figure out how to go about things and re-fill the leg since he lost a good chunk of everything in there. He's being taken care of, but the problem is is that he may need multiple surgeries, and since America's medical insurance is garbage, my family and I can expect a massive bill on the way. I don't know how big it will be, but we are already struggling with getting by with food and the house mortgage. A hospital bill this size will be disastrous. My work shifts have been cut short, I currently have no way to get more, and my Mom's pay isn't much in of itself, and is only coming in every two weeks now when it used to be one. We
